DailyLight (“the App”, “we”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights. By using DailyLight you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect (Summary)
DailyLight is a privacy-first, offline-first application. You do not need to register or sign in. Most data is generated and stored locally on your device. The App integrates Google AdMob; Google may collect anonymized, non-personally-identifiable data for ad and analytics purposes (see section 3).
2. Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)
The following data is stored only on your device and is used to deliver the App’s core features:
- Selected age group, current states, goals, and preferred style
- Sentence currently displayed in the App or Widget
- Theme settings (solid color or image background)
- Font and appearance preferences
None of this data is uploaded or shared with third parties by the App.
3. Third-Party Services (AdMob Advertising SDK)
To support free usage, DailyLight integrates Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Device information (model, OS version, advertising identifiers such as IDFA/IDFV)
- Ad impressions and click events
- Anonymized usage statistics for advertising measurement
AdMob collects and processes data according to Google’s privacy policies. We do not provide any personally identifiable information (PII) to AdMob. To limit personalized ads, use your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking").
4. What We Do NOT Collect
DailyLight does not collect or upload the following:
- Name, phone number, or email
- GPS or precise location
- Contacts/address book
- Health or medical records
- Photos or media
- Payment or financial information
The App does not use iCloud; there is no cloud sync of user data in the current version.
5. App Group & Widget Data Sharing (Local Only)
To synchronize content between the App and its Widget on the same device, we use Apple App Groups (for example group.com.dailylight.shared). Shared data remains local to the device and is not transmitted off-device.
6. Data Security
We rely on iOS system-level protections to safeguard local data. While we follow reasonable measures, no system is 100% secure — if your device is lost, compromised or jailbroken, data may be at risk. Please protect your device and account credentials.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data, including Widget data. Because DailyLight does not upload user data to our servers, there is no server-side data to delete.
8. Children’s Privacy
This App is intended for general audiences and is not specifically designed for children. If children use the App, it should be under parental supervision.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be published inside the App and will take effect immediately upon release.
