Neat

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Neat is a local photo and contacts organization assistant. Analysis stays on your device. Your photos, contacts, and calendar events are not uploaded for scanning.

1. Who we are

Neat (“we”, “us”) helps you organize content you already keep on your iPhone — screenshots, duplicate and similar photos, burst frames, large videos, screen recordings, compressible videos, duplicate contacts, and past calendar events.

Neat is not a system cleaner, casino product, or cloud photo service. We do not claim to clear system junk, speed up your phone, or access other apps’ private data.

2. Our privacy principles

3. Permissions we may request

Permissions are requested only when you use the related feature — not during onboarding alone.

Photos

Used to find and preview screenshots, duplicates, similar photos, bursts, large videos, screen recordings, and videos you choose to compress; and to move items you confirm into Recently Deleted or save compressed copies when you ask. Analysis stays on device. Photos are not uploaded for scanning.

Contacts

Used to find duplicate or incomplete contacts and to merge entries you confirm. Contact data is processed on device and is not uploaded.

Calendar

Used to list events that ended long ago so you can clear ones you no longer need. Calendar data is processed on device and is not uploaded.

You can change these permissions anytime in iOS Settings. Limited Photo Library Access is supported where iOS provides it; Neat then works only with the items you allow.

4. Information processed on your device

To provide organization suggestions and progress, Neat may process on your device:

Widgets may show summary counts (for example pending screenshots, duplicates, large videos) and free-space figures shared locally via App Group. Shortcuts / Siri intents open the related organize flow on device; they do not upload your library.

5. What we do not collect

We do not operate a cloud library for your media. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos, contacts, or calendar contents for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles from your library.

Neat does not require an account to organize on device. We do not collect your photo contents, contact books, or calendar feeds onto our servers for analysis as part of the core organize features described in this policy.

6. Purchases and Apple services

Neat Pro (subscription or lifetime unlock) is purchased through Apple’s App Store / StoreKit. Apple processes payment and may share limited purchase or entitlement status needed to unlock features (for example removing the free organize wait period).

We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to App Store transactions. Restore Purchases uses Apple’s purchase records on your Apple ID.

7. Storage, retention, and deletion

Preferences, organize history summaries, and widget snapshots stay on your device (and App Group container when applicable). They are not a backup of your photo library.

Organizing photos or videos typically moves items to Photos’ Recently Deleted for a limited time controlled by iOS, unless a feature explicitly saves a new compressed file you keep. Contact merges and calendar clears follow the system APIs after you confirm.

Uninstalling Neat removes the app’s local data. Content that remains in Photos, Contacts, or Calendar is still managed by those system apps.

8. Your choices

9. Children

Neat is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Neat’s local organize features.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when features, permissions, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Neat after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
