Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MetaPic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the MetaPic iOS app.

1. Overview

MetaPic is built for on-device photo privacy checks and editing. Metadata review and cleanup, watermarking, compression, format conversion, resizing, and password-based encryption or decryption all run locally on your device.

You do not need an account to use these features.

2. Information Processed on Your Device

Depending on the features you use, MetaPic may temporarily access or process:

These materials stay on your device unless you deliberately save them to Photos or share them through the system share sheet or another app you choose.

3. Photos Access

MetaPic requests access to your photo library only so you can:

We do not upload your photo library to our servers as part of these local tools.

4. Encrypted Files

When you encrypt a photo, MetaPic creates a new .metapic file protected with a password you set. The original photo is not overwritten.

Decryption requires the correct password and is performed locally. We cannot recover a forgotten password.

5. Purchases and Premium

If you buy MetaPic Premium (a one-time purchase to remove ads), payment is processed by Apple.

We receive purchase entitlement status through StoreKit so the app can unlock Premium. We do not receive your full payment card details.

6. Ads and Tracking

MetaPic may show ads unless you unlock Premium. Ad delivery and related measurement are handled by Apple or advertising partners under Apple’s rules and your device tracking settings.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Storage and Retention

Processed outputs are written to temporary cache by default and may be cleared when the app restarts or when the system frees storage.

Items you save to Photos remain under your control in the Photos app. We do not operate a MetaPic cloud account that stores your photos for these local features.

8. Children

MetaPic is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your region. Do not use the app if you are under the applicable age.

9. Your Choices

You can revoke Photos access in iOS Settings, delete processed files you no longer need, and uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling removes the app’s local data on that device.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of MetaPic after an update means you accept the revised policy.
