Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the MetaPic iOS app (“MetaPic” or “the App”). By downloading or using MetaPic, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
MetaPic provides on-device tools to review and reduce sensitive photo metadata, and to edit photos locally—including watermarking, compression, format conversion, resizing, and password-based encryption or decryption.
Features may change as we improve the App.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MetaPic on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store terms and Apple’s usage rules.
3. Your Responsibilities
You agree that:
- You only process photos and files you have the right to use
- You are responsible for encryption passwords and for keeping encrypted files secure
- You will not misuse MetaPic to violate law, privacy rights, or intellectual property rights
- You will not reverse engineer, interfere with, or abuse the App except where permitted by law
4. Local Processing and Outputs
MetaPic processes content on your device and does not overwrite originals by default. Outputs are typically stored in temporary cache until you save or share them.
Results depend on the source file, device capabilities, and settings you choose. We do not guarantee that every metadata field can be detected or removed for every format.
5. Encryption Disclaimer
Encryption helps protect files with a password you choose. No encryption system is perfect. Forgotten passwords cannot be recovered by us.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding passwords and encrypted files.
6. Premium Purchases
MetaPic Premium is a one-time in-app purchase that removes ads, as described in the App. Purchases are billed by Apple.
Refunds, billing issues, and purchase restoration follow Apple’s App Store policies. You may need to restore purchases after reinstalling or changing devices.
7. Ads
The free version of MetaPic may display ads. Purchasing Premium removes ads as described at the time of purchase.
Ad content is provided by third parties and is not an endorsement by MetaPic.
8. Intellectual Property
MetaPic, its name, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Photos and content you process remain yours or your licensors’.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
MetaPic is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that processing will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every photo format or privacy need.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of MetaPic.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for MetaPic Premium in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or zero if you have not purchased Premium.
11. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with Apple services such as Photos, Share Sheet, and StoreKit, as well as advertising partners. Their terms and privacy practices apply to those services.
12. Termination
You may stop using MetaPic at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or stop providing the App or features if required by law, platform rules, or misuse.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply.
If you access the App from another region, local mandatory rights may still protect you.
