Privacy Policy

How Momently handles information on your device.

Momently (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an iOS app that helps you turn important life moments into Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use Momently, and how that information stays on your device.

Local-first by design

Momently is designed so your moments stay on your device. Titles, descriptions, dates, widget designs, photos you choose, and related settings are stored locally using Apple frameworks (including SwiftData) and an App Group so Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and Live Activities can read the same data.

Momently does not require an account, and it does not sync your moments to Momently-operated cloud servers.

Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the app, the following may be stored locally on your device:

  • Moment details you create (such as title, note, event type, and target date/time)
  • Photos you choose as backgrounds, plus preset images bundled with the app
  • Widget appearance choices (layout, font, colors, filters, and related design options)
  • Optional Live Activity preferences (for example, how early a Live Activity may begin before a moment)
  • A local record of whether Momently Pro features are unlocked after App Store transactions

This information remains under your control on your device unless you choose to share it.

Photos and media access

If you grant permission, Momently may access your photo library so you can choose a background for a moment. Images used for moments are copied and saved locally for display in the app, widgets, share cards, and related features.

Momently does not upload your photos to Momently-operated servers. Access is used only to let you pick and display media you select.

Widgets and Live Activities

When you add a Momently widget or enable a Live Activity, Apple’s system surfaces may show information you configured—such as a title, countdown or count-up text, and imagery—on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Dynamic Island. That presentation is handled by iOS using data stored on your device.

Sharing moments

Momently lets you share in ways you initiate:

  • Export a moment as a shareable package (for example via AirDrop or the system share sheet) so another person can import it. A package may include the moment’s content and associated image data.
  • Share a rendered share-card image through the system share sheet.

Sharing is delivered through Apple’s sharing tools and whatever destination you choose (such as Messages or Mail). Those destinations are governed by their own privacy practices. Momently does not operate a cloud account for sharing.

Purchases and subscriptions

Momently Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple handles payment details according to Apple’s privacy practices. Momently may keep a local entitlement flag on your device so Pro features can be unlocked in the app and related surfaces.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Momently does not include third-party advertising networks, and it is not designed to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

Momently does not operate an analytics backend that collects your moment content. If you choose to share system diagnostics with Apple through iOS, that sharing is governed by Apple’s policies.

Children

Momently is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Momently-operated servers.

Data retention and deletion

Because moment data is stored on your device, it remains until you delete moments in the app or remove the app. Deleting a moment removes that moment’s local data. Uninstalling Momently removes app data according to iOS behavior, including App Group data used by widgets when the app and its data are deleted.

Subscription records remain associated with your Apple ID as managed by Apple.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Momently after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
